DVD Training FAQ
Here are a few of the frequently asked questions regarding the DVD training I sell. If you have a question that isn’t posted here, please feel free to CONTACT me.
Q: Why is your DVD training only a digital distribution?
A: I’m currently looking into physical distribution at the moment. Stay tuned for further information regarding a physical copy, if you’re interested. It will of course have a price adjustment, due to physical printing, packaging and of course, shipping/handling.
Q: How long do I have to download the file?
A: I’ve decided on 48 hours, that should give most people enough time to download the files. If you require more time, please contact me.
Q: How many times can I download from the links?
A: The links are good for only one full download each.
Q: Ok, so how do I get these links once I order?
A: The links will arrive by email, which you will of course have supplied upon placing the order via Paypal. Be certain to place the email address “orders AT javisjones DOT com” on your white list.
Q: I didn’t get my email with the special links… What now?
A: Check your spam folder. If you didn’t place the email address “orders AT javisjones DOT com” on your white list, then it may end up there.
Q: How long does it take to get my email with the links?
A: It is almost instantaneous. It can sometimes take a few minutes to an hour for the links to come through. If for some reason there is a problem with your order, then I must manually confirm it and that can take up to 48 hours.
Q: Exactly how large are the files and how many are there?
A: There are nine .7z files, eight of which are for videos and the last is for the content (.psd brushes, etc). The 7z files contains all the video files, .psd brushes and a few .lwo object files I used in the creation of the character.
Q: 22 hours? That’s ridiculous!
A: Yes, it probably is. I wont be doing training that long again.
Q: What is the .7z format and what is 7Zip?
A: It’s only the coolest compression application out there! It’s completely open source and free to end users. The .7z format is the native compression format used by 7Zip, and has much better compression over Winzip, Winrar and the few others out there. 7Zip runs on Win, Linux & Mac. You can download it from HERE.
Q: What is VLC Player?
A: VLC Player is open source and completely free to end users (Notice a trend here?). As I prefer open source solutions when and where possible AND since 3D-Coat runs on Win, Linux & Mac, I have opted to promote the use of VLC Player since it runs on Win, Linux & Mac. You can download it from HERE.
Q: I’m having a problem with VLC Player, what should I do?
A: Head on over to the VLC Player support forums. They can give you a hand if you happen to run into trouble. Of course, you probably wont (hopefully!). VLC Player support forums can be found HERE. There is also much documentation, found HERE.
Q: Can I get a refund if I don’t like your training?
A: Refunds will be given at my sole discretion. Bottom line: If you think this will happen, don’t waste my time or your money.
Q: Is this the same training that you had listed through another seller?
A: Why yes it is! As is the general rule of humans, we sometimes don’t agree with one another. That said, I now sell this material directly from my site here.
Q: Does this training DVD contain information for 3D-Coat releases beyond v3?
A: Yes and no. This training was created and intended with v3 in mind, during the Summer/Autumn of 2009, so some of the material is a little outdated. But that said – I’ve recorded and am accompanying an almost 25 minute addendum for changes up to 3D-Coat v3.2! This video is included in your download links set.
Q: $20? That’s it?
A: Yep. That’s it. I like to keep things at a price point that is simply irresistible.
Q: Paypal only? What if I don’t like/use Paypal and prefer a credit card or cash/check?
A: For the moment I only accept Paypal. But if I hear feedback from enough customers I may implement a credit card payment method through a third party. So, if this is something you would like, don’t hesitate to contact me. Also, I do not accept cash/check.
